Hello and welcome!

I am Oxana and these are my mini-me inspirations - Julia (6), Ben (4), and Catie (2). I am a local North Arlington family photographer specializing in newborns and little kids. I am versatile and work both in studio and outdoor settings. I have my own studio that is conveniently located in the heart of North Arlington (steps away from Virginia Hospital Center), fully stocked for newborn and family sessions. But I am also obsessed with nature so use every moment of gorgeous outdoor weather to record those special moments in vibrant nature colors.

In the spring of 2021, I started a silly photo project to engage my kids in nature - I created little sets for Brood X cicadas and staged them performing human activities. The project got lots of publicity and my work has now been published in The Washington Post (I was the centerfold of the Sunday Arts section - woohoo!) and featured in literally thousands of news outlets all over the world, including BBC News, Reuters (I was their North American story of the month!), Daily Mail, NBC Washington, WDMV/ DCW5, ABC 7/WJLA, Arlington Magazine, and even Nasdaq! My interviews were also picked up (and picked on! :)) by Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show (6-minute mark).

After starting a family, I found a way to combine my two passions, family and photography. My desire to take the best photos of my own kids (and lots of practice!) naturally morphed into family photography, first, as a hobby, and now a profession.

I bring a lot of energy, passion, and excitement into my work. I pride myself on family sessions that at times include four generations. My youngest clients are bumps and babies that are a few hours and days old. My oldest client danced at his 100th birthday party! I also consider animals to be family members and have this far incorporated dogs, cats, and a guinea pig into my family sessions. I am always open for new challenges and ideas! My main goal is to make people happy, whether it is by incorporating objects of sentimental value into newborn sessions or trying out any new poses and venues, from classical studio photography to any place outside in any season and any weather - I love nature!

I prepare all newborn setups myself and create most props by hand - I knit blankets, cut up and thread burlap sacks to make floor mats, knit and crochet all hats, bonnets, pants and suits for my models, weave woolen braids from pounds of organic wool that I order from local farms, and make hairbands literally from scratch to create my own unique designs you see in the photos. I pride myself in using the softest natural yarns - ranging from merino wool and alpaca to silk and cashmere. Babies love the softness and comfort of my props and stay very comfortable during sessions.

I am very excited about meeting and photographing you and your families and hope to hear from you soon!
